Desabra Jain Indah is an independent digital magazine dedicated to travel, culture, lifestyle, and the people shaping our world. We publish carefully researched features, practical guides, and essays for readers who want substance alongside style.

Our mission

We exist to publish journalism that respects its readers. That means accurate reporting, transparent sourcing, and a refusal to chase the algorithm at the expense of the story. Our editorial team covers destinations, ideas, and people that deserve more attention than they currently receive, with a focus on slower, deeper engagement rather than trend-driven listicles.

The magazine is editorially independent. Our reviews, recommendations, and coverage are not for sale. Where an article contains sponsored content or affiliate links, this is disclosed clearly and within the article itself.

Editorial standards

Every article published on Desabra Jain Indah is reviewed by at least one editor other than the writer. We correct errors promptly and transparently, with a dated correction notice at the foot of any updated article. Sources are cited in-text where possible; where a source has requested anonymity for their own protection, this is explained.

Our writers and editors are required to disclose any conflict of interest relevant to the articles they work on. Gifts, press trips, and complimentary services are disclosed within the relevant article. We do not accept payment for editorial coverage.

Our team

Desabra Jain Indah is produced by a small, distributed team of writers and editors based across Europe and Southeast Asia. The masthead is published on each bylined article, and the editorial team can be reached directly at hello@desabrajaindah.id.

Diversity and inclusion

We believe a magazine that covers the world should reflect the world. We actively seek writers and subjects from backgrounds historically underrepresented in travel and lifestyle journalism, and we maintain an internal style guide that reflects this commitment.

How we are funded

Desabra Jain Indah is funded through a combination of display advertising, sponsored series (clearly labelled as such), and reader subscriptions. Reader subscriptions are the largest single source of revenue and the one we are working to grow, as they allow us to remain independent of advertiser pressure.
